- Blue Louisiana Crabs12Boiled in Crab boil or purchase already boiled
- Italian Salad Dressing1 CupRobusto (You can add more salad dressing)
- Garlic2 TeaspoonsChopped
- Bay leaf1-2Dry
- Cayenne Pepper1/2 TeaspoonsOptional
During months when crabs are affordable, we buy a hamper of blue crabs, boil them and plan a variety of ways to use them. Sometimes, we would go down to Bayou Barataria, set traps and catch our own crabs. One of my favorite is to marinate crabs. They must sit overnight to get that great flavor but it’s well worth the wait.
1.Boil Louisiana blue crabs or purchase them already boiled.
2.Clean the crabs and save the claws as well.
3.After cleaning, break crabs in half and place in a bowl.
4.Pour Italian Salad dressing on top of crabs until well coated.
5. Add chopped garlic and a bit if cayenne and mix well.
6.Let marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
