If you want to feel like you are an experienced baker, try this great recipe and eyes will start to roll. Brownies are a favorite in my home and for those chocolate lovers, this is about as good as you can get. There is a lot going on with this brownie but the good thing is you can leave off the nuts, caramel or chocolate frosting. But remember, you can have it all if you like.
Follow the instructions for any brand of brownie mix. I used Betty Crocker. Prepare the brownie mix and set aside. I will not include the ingredients for the brownies since you may use ant brand. Using an 8 oz softened pack of Philadelphia cream cheese, place in bowl and stir until well blended. Add one egg, 1/3 cup of sugar and teaspoon of vanilla. Set that on the side. In a 9 inch pan, spray generously with a non stick spray. (Baker’s Joy) I used a cheesecake pan. Add half of the brownie mix to the pan. Pour the entire Philadelphia cream cheese mixture next. Using the rest of the brownie mix, drop into pan and let it spread. It may not look completely covered but that is what gives it the marbled look. Bake as directed on the box. Once the brownie is out of the oven let it cool. Use the already made can of chocolate fudge. No need to make life complicated. Sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over chocolate frosting. Melt caramel squares in 1 teaspoon of milk. Place in microwave in 30 second intervals until melted. Drizzle the softened caramel over the top. ENJOY!!
